HOME OF THE HEADWATERS MATERNAL EWE FLOCK

Burwood Station has been a cornerstone of Headwaters since our inception in 2007, proudly hosting our maternal ewe stud flock.

Each year, the station manages approximately 2,300 stud ewes. At tailing in late October, the Headwaters team works alongside the Burwood team to DNA test and EID tag every lamb to support our ongoing breeding program initiatives.

Just prior to Christmas, the Headwaters team returns to Burwood to assist with weaning. This marks the first key opportunity to assess the lambs and identify those that will progress into the breeding program.

March is busy, we conduct fecal egg count (FEC) testing, eye muscle area (EMA) scanning and our ram lambs make their way to Coleridge Downs.

The sire team is based at Burwood Station year-round, apart from the mating period.
